Mory Barak

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Mory Barak contributes more than 25 years of real estate investment and asset management experience to BPG and serves as the Executive Chairman of the Board. He is the Co-Founder of Lion Real Estate Group (current AUM $1.3 billion), where he has led efforts for sourcing acquisitions, structuring capital, executing dispositions, and overseeing corporate and asset level operations since 2007.

Prior to founding Lion Real Estate Group with Jeff Weller, Mory established a reputable investment background and skillfully developed top-tier real estate expertise. During his tenure as Principal of the Investments Group at Buchanan Street Partners, he played a key role in the origination, structuring, and closing of investments for various discretionary opportunity Funds. Earlier in his career, he was an integral part of Lazard Frères Real Estate Investors (LFREI), Lazard’s real estate opportunity Fund platform, where he gained valuable exposure to complex real estate transactions and institutional level capital execution.

Mory also served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of EPMI and Bayside Communities, overseeing a multifamily portfolio of 3,097 owned units and 3,500 additional units under management throughout the West Coast. His experience spans multiple real estate cycles and includes capital formation, governance, portfolio construction, and operational oversight at a vast scale.

As Executive Chairman, Mory provides strategic direction, cultivated investment discipline, and invaluable leadership to BPG, supporting the firm’s vision, capital partner relationships, and institutional positioning goals. He is a graduate of the Stern School of Business at New York University.
